History of shOUT!

shOUT began as a youth group based in Balham, Southwest London in October 1997. It came about as a result of some young people approaching the Wandsworth youth service and asking for a youth group to be formed to meet their needs. Shout initially relied entirely on volunteers to manage the project but in 1998/9 funding was secured which enabled the group to employ a part time youth worker to support the volunteers and provide appropriate training to develop the group work service.

In 2003 Shout Youth Group agreed to a merger with a second South London youth group based in Sutton called LMO. The enlarged group operates under its official registered charitable name of Shout Youth Group Ltd.
